Nicaragua is a beautiful country with friendly people and considerable tourist potential. Unfortunately, with few exceptions, the potential is not yet being exploited.
The best organized areas are the Pacific Coast hotels and beaches (expecially San Juan del Sur), Granada, Corn Island and parts of the San Juan River (border between Nicaragua and Costa Rica).
Bluefield (Atlantic Coast) has an excellent hotel, but little for tourists except fishing and possible a river tour.
